Roughlock Falls State Nature Area in Lead, SD

Part of the Spearfish Canyon nature area, Roughlock Falls includes nature trails with spectacular waterfall views along Little Spearfish Creek, picnic areas birdwatching and wildlife viewing, fishing and year-round access for hiking and snowshoeing. A trail system connects the Roughlock Falls viewing area with Spearfish Falls and the Savoy Pond Area. The 22-mile Spearfish Canyon National Scenic Byway provides access to Cheyenne Crossing, a historic stage stops nearby Lead, South Dakota.
